Practice chanters

///Practice chanters

A smaller, quieter version of the bagpipe for practising.

  • This is the Limited Edition "Lincoln Hilton" ES Session Chanter, Mk III.

    It is Hard Anodised Aluminium, finished in Space Grey and is available with two stems which enables the musician to play in either A or B Flat.  This model also features a gold-coloured ferrule and foot.

    The hard anodisation process makes the chanter extremely durable and resistant to oxidisation.  The stems are interchangeable and it really is as easy as "Plug & Play". This gives it much more flexibility, as it can be played whilst jamming with other musicians in A or at pipe band practice in B Flat.

    An all round chanter that is hard wearing and will continue to look stunning for years to come.

  • We've all been there.  Sitting at table practice, everything is rocking along well and then a late piper arrives and (as usual) their practice chanter sounds crap.  Reedy, thin and hugely out of tune!  Then you are trying to get through some difficult harmony part and it's no good - the bad chanter is throwing everyone off. Hylands have come up with an ingenious solution - the tunable practice chanter.  This instrument has an adjustable thread in the neck for easy tuning and is easily adjusted to flatten or sharpen the overall pitch.  It features:
    • an imitation ivory sole with stainless steel ferrule and mouthpiece ring.
    • reverse threaded mouthpiece
    • threaded reed seat
    • countersunk holes with pipe chanter spacing on a standard size practice chanter
  • GHB Carbony™ Practice Chanter with engraved Stainless Steel bell. True band chanter finger spacing, diameter matching and counterbored finger holes for the ultimate practice instrument. 3/4″ neck can be fit in bag and play as a goose. Comes with a lifetime warranty.

  • These RG Hardie practice chanters are made from standard polypenco. They produce a sweet sound and are a pleasure to learn and practice on--plus the colours are much more fun than boring old timber! The chanter is around 46cm long so commonly called a standard or short chanter as opposed to the long chanter which is longer.  Clear? Chanters are supplied with a reed included so they are ready to play straight out of the box. Remember that shipping is FREE within Australia.
